About Ali......
I believe every life event deserves to be marked with kindness, dignity, and love — but also with a touch of joy and laughter. Alongside my work as a celebrant, I’ve spent many years in education as a Head Teacher, where I learned how to keep things running smoothly, even when the unexpected happens. From orchestrating assemblies and school performances to keeping children entertained on rainy days, I’ve picked up plenty of organisational skills and a knack for staying calm under pressure.
These skills now serve me well in ceremonies, where I make sure everything flows with ease. After all, if you can keep a hall full of restless children engaged on a wet Tuesday morning, you can handle anything — even a missing ring or a runaway flower girl!
I’m proud to be an Associate Celebrant with Celebrate People, a spiritual and pastoral care organisation with a humanist ethos. Every ceremony I lead reflects Celebrate’s shared belief in openness, respect, empathy, and connection — and above all, the love we hold for one another.
At the heart of my approach is a commitment to understanding others. Whether it’s a wedding or a funeral, I bring warmth, empathy, and sincerity to ensure each ceremony is meaningful and memorable.
Weddings are a celebration of unity and love; funerals are a tribute to a unique life lived — both deserve the utmost care and respect.
I take time to get to know families and couples, listening to their stories, values, and emotions. Together, we co-create ceremonies that reflect their true essence and honour what matters most to them.
Outside of my work, I treasure time with my family and friends — whether it’s sharing a meal, watching a box set, dancing to 80s music, or heading off on a surprise city break. It’s often the simple things in life that bring me the most joy.
My guiding motto is simple: always be kind, have courage, and find a reason to laugh.

Co-op Funeral Care, Tranent were supporting us to organise my father’s funeral ceremony.
They passed our details onto Ali Cameron
Before this meeting, as a family we were full of trepidation and sadness, not knowing what to expect at such a harrowing time in our lives.
Ali brought a light into the room with her professional, friendly personality, putting us all at ease straight away.
Ali began by asking the most basic questions then before long; we were reminiscing and sharing stories about dad with ease. Smiles, giggles and tears, as these occasions should be.
Ali was supportive when we chatted about family dynamics and offered calm and reassurance that the day would only be about celebrating Dad’s life. She would support and guide us through the day.
We were also reassured that the family run Crematorium offered the most respectful care while conducting their business. This is information you don't know you need to know until you know!
Ali communicated constantly as the Ceremony drew closer. She changed and added to her draft until she had confirmation that we were all happy with its contents.
The eulogy was beautiful and captured Dad’s good nature and kindness. Ali shared how he invested in others to bring the best out of them. It was a true reflection of him at work, rest and play.
Our Dad had a wicked sense of humor and, throughout the ceremony, Ali shared this with the gathering and they had a good laugh too.
The Family are so grateful for all she did to make sure the celebration was perfect. My Brother, Aunt and I have received many messages saying the service encapsulated our Addie.

Our family had the blessing of working closely with the wonderful Alison Cameron, who brought together a beautiful ceremony for us. We cannot thank Ali enough for the role she played in helping our family through such an emotional time.
From our first meeting, Ali's professionalism, kindness and warmth were evident. She approached our family with deep compassion and understanding, and it was clear that she truly cared about getting to know our loved one and representing them with dignity and respect.
Ali took the time to listen carefully to our stories and wishes, and she really understood the family member who we had lost. She was also a great guide through the process and wanted our feedback and suggestions, which gave our family reassurance when we needed it.
The ceremony which Ali delivered was heartfelt, beautiful and very personal, it's encapsulated our loved one perfectly. Ali captured their life, humour and their character in a very special way which honoured our loved one exactly the way we wanted to remember them.
Ali's calm and reassuring presence was a wonderful comfort to our family. Everything was handled with sensitivity and grace, we were able to grieve, remember and celebrate in a way which felt true to our loved one.
We are deeply grateful to Ali for her care and dedication, and we would not hesitate to recommend her to any family who wishes to have a compassionate and skilled celebrant.
